First time visiting Charleston to see friends, and man, what a find! I booked this on Expedia and it didn't disappoint! Usually online check in procedures can be glitchy, but the staff at the Starlight made it very simple. The rooms have a nifty retrofuturistic vibe to them, and the beds....one of the more comfortable hotel beds I've ever had... slept like a log! The hotel itself was fairly close to a lot of the things I wanted to see and do while I was in town so that was a plus. There's a lounge on the property and at times noticed a bit of late night activity when I was settling down for bed, but nothing really that kept me awake as the bed was just that nice! Definitely will consider staying here again when next I come into town!

What a gem of a find!! My new fav place.. loved loved loved the retro time-capsule feel— yet new beds and nice bathrooms and showers! Loved the pool and music outside piped in.. we also loved that not every inch was taken up by rooms- The lounge and lobby area were welcoming, clean and the decor was too fun! I really loved the concept of the social pool house space with the ping pong tables and even some little outdoor nooks to chill in. I’ll share some pics— we opted for the bunk rooms - for 3 adult women which we loved verses doing perhaps 2 Doubles ! Super comfy and spacious - bedding was great and pillow top mattresses! Best way to visit Charleston and save money for shopping and the like downtown.. easy 15 mins ride and zero traffic! I’ll be back! My friend was visiting from Ireland and I drove us down from Wash DC- my kid is at uSC - we all agreed fabulous trip topped off with great place. You could Tell They worked hard to create a warm vibe and the cottages looked amazi, btw. Ps Megan MOD was amazing and we loved the texting system to reach the “reception” - they were always was on top of things! :-)

Wow! Walked into the 1960's in the reception and bar/lounge downstairs. Original decor, very well maintained. Magazines and photos and books from the 1960s add to the ambiance of the check in experience. There was a coffee service for purchase in the mornings served in the lounge - a nice touch. Additionally, there is a pool house where we listened to an amazing jazz, funk trio! We did not have an opportunity to eat at the restaurant next door, but looking forward to on our next visit. The guest room was beautifully remodeled, completely - with an eye to the era but fully updated. Lovely color palate and nice touches - small refrigerator, and matching coffee maker. Speaker for your music. Excellent beds and linens.

Loved this motel! It's just a happy place! The manager was very helpful and accommodating even when they were very busy. The staff including Rick was the friendliest hotel staff I think I've ever experienced. As we were checking out a man from the cleaning staff saw me struggle with my heavy suitcase and carried it down the stairs for me. It was just a great experience from the minute we arrived until the minute we had to leave. If we ever return to Charleston again...this will be our motel.

What a great retro motel! We spent the day by the pool and the staff could not have been nicer. With 60s music playing all afternoon it was super nice. Great selection of beer and mixed drinks were good as well. The location is in the grittier part of Charleston but personally I loved it. The owners did a fantastic job on the decor as well. Rooms were spotless with nice linens- overall a really cool experience.

This place was honestly a highlight of our trip. The room was super clean and felt really well taken care of, and the Tiffany blue themed decor was really cute and made it feel a bit more special than a typical motel stay. The pool area was great too. It had a really nice vibe, especially with the pool bar. You can tell they put effort into the property, even small things like having sunscreen available by the pool, which was a nice touch. (I posted a picture with nobody in it, but earlier this afternoon there were a lot of people enjoying the pool) There are cottages and I saw many families coming here. Hank (manager) was awesome! He was really responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. Overall, just a really solid and enjoyable stay.
